Hello.
With our first blog post it seems an ideal time to introduce ourselves.
We are Anne-Clare and Alexis and together we are Cotton Twist.
Our aim is to free party bags from plastic and to create back-to-basics craft kits which will keep little fingers busy and inspire imaginative play.

No one wants to be a cliche - but I think we might need to accept that we are a slight cliche. After a few months on my (it's Alexis here...) second stint of maternity leave I was floundering around looking for direction. I knew that returning to work with two small children wasn't exactly what I wanted to do but also I didn't want to give up on having a career, plus I needed to have a creative outlet.

I'd often lament 'what am I going to do!?' to my friend El - who was simultaneously getting the same cry from her friend and neighbour Anne-Clare - also on maternity leave after having her second child.
El introduced us, (probably in the hope that we'd give her a break) and the rest, as they say, is history.
