Our DIY Potato Print Idea for Thank You Teacher

Our DIY Potato Print Idea for Thank You Teacher

YOU WILL NEED:
Ruler | Pencil | 46.5 x 5cm White Card | Scissors | Knife or Craft Knife
| Paint | Paintbrush | Potatoes

1. FOLD YOUR CARD
Use your ruler, pencil & scissors to cut your card. These measurements are the perfect size for popping into one of our personalised keepsake gift tins.
Make a 5cm fold on one end & continue accordion folding until the whole card is in a concertina.

2. CUT THE POTATOES
Use a sharp knife or craft knife to cut around the shapes of the letters.
You can use a pen to mark out the shape you want to cut around or just go for it!

3. GET CREATIVE
Allow your potatoes to dry or dab them with kitchen roll to absorb excess moisture. This will allow your paint to take better. Now add colour!
You can get creative with this step adding any colour you choose. You could even experiment with mixed colour or pattern.

4. PRINT, PRINT, PRINT
Print your letters by placing the painted potatoes down on the card & applying a firm & even pressure.

5. DECORATE YOUR CARD
You can add colour pattern & texture to the front & back of the card using another potato stamp.
Top Tip: If you have a cookie cutter in a fun shape you can press this into your potato & cut around it before removing it to create a perfect shape.

6. A THOUGHTFUL THANK YOU
Now you have a thoughtful & unique gift for the people you are thankful for. Perfect for gifting to hard working teachers & caregivers. We love the way this card fits in our personalised keepsake tins & pops out for added fun.
